About the show
Ivan Kotlyarevsky's immortal poem, interpreted by the "Veterans' Theater", turns into an emotional conversation about war, memory, and the power of words. The main idea of the project is to open the way to inner healing and self-expression through the art of theater through physical plasticity, words, and music. "Aeneid" - not just another premiere of the «Veterans Theater», but a project designed to support Ukrainian veterans through creativity, help them rethink their war experience and enable society to understand them.
The roles in this performance are performed by active military personnel and veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war with amputations and severe injuries, who, despite physical injuries, demonstrate amazing strength and will to live on stage.
«Aeneid» demonstrates the potential and resilience of Ukrainian military personnel, who, despite trials, find the strength for creativity and self-realization.
The project is being implemented thanks to the help of the general partner – Charitable Foundation «MHP-Hromady».
The Veterans Theater – is a unique project of the Communications Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the «Theatre of Dramatists». It combines psychological rehabilitation and creative realization for veterans who have experienced traumatic experiences. «Theatre of Veterans» teaches veterans to professionally write plays and tell their own stories through theater, and also helps them integrate into society.
